I just poured a 12′ x 13′ basement entrance roof/ceiling. It was the 1st time I ever used a bullfloat (if thats the right way to say it) and it’s OK, but not perfect. Since it is out in plain sight, I’d like it to be perfectly smooth like glass. I know there are such things as concrete floor grinders to smooth out hard concrete but I need to know if those machines are rentable. I don’t expect anybody to tell me where I can rent one locally, I just nee to know if that’s a machine that is rented. Yeah, yeah, I know-I should’ve used a power trowel, but I didn’t. Besides, unless your a professional who uses those machines all the time, you’ll leave swirl marks anyway. Any knowledgeable input would be appreciated. Thanx.
The pad I’m talking about drops about 10″ over the 13′ length so self-leveling stuff wont work.

There are numerous grinders that will do the job, I recommend a walk behind with vacuum dust extraction. Most large rental stores will have a version. Wear a dusk mask and safety goggles. Your results will not be a glassy surface as that requires a finishing technique of uncured concrete. There are a top coat products that will handle un-level floors and leave a smooth finish which again would be the easiest.
Combination of the two maybe required based on how rough the surface is.
Home Depot recently began renting a concrete finishing system that consists of a large grinder and carbide grinding discs. Check them out in their rental department.
